About Omni Hotels & Resorts Notchland
Omni Hotels & Resorts is a private hotel company based in Dallas, Texas. The company was founded in 1983. However, in 1996, Robert Rowling of TRT Holdings bought the company from International Holdings, Ltd. Some of the hotel branches remain owned by Omni Corporate. Since the purchase of the hotel under the private equity investor’s name and company, the hotel chain grew bigger. The company now operates 60 properties in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Only two of these are franchised—the Cancun and Puerto Aventuras hotels that are most likely the ones still under the management of Omni Corporate.
Robert Rowling’s purchase of the hotel chain for $500 million has been proven to be worth every cent now that the Omni Hotels & Resorts revenue amounts to $2 billion. The brand also has an active competition with Marriott International, another famous name in the hotel industry. Omni’s scope of service is also beyond just accommodations. Like its competitors, it has a chain of restaurants and wedding and event management operations. As of 2014, Omni’s most recent acquisition was Wyndham Riverfront New Orleans. The amount remains undisclosed, but the purchase has allowed Omni to gain more recognition in the hospitality industry.
