Nelson Airport – NSN
Found six kilometers from the southwestern side of the city of Nelson, New Zealand, the Nelson Airport is a domestic airport operated by the Nelson Airport Limited. Although this public airfield handles no international flights, it is recognized as the fifth most active airport in the country in terms of passenger traffic and the seventh busiest in terms of aircraft movement. Nelson Airport is known internationally by its IATA code NSN and ICAO code NZNS.
Best Time to Visit
The NSN-Nelson Airport was constructed way back in 1937. It features an Air New Zealand Koru Lounge and four runways in total, three of which are grass/dirt airstrips. There is only one terminal building in the airport, which has a total of nine tarmac gates and seven remote gates found near the terminal. The aerodrome handles over a million passengers in 2017, averaging to 60 commercial flights daily. Five airlines currently serve Nelson Airport and connect the city to various points in New Zealand, such as Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch. From the airfield, the best places to visit include the town of Nelson and the suburb of Tahunanui.

Another airport found in the area is the MZP-Motueka Aerodrome. It is about a thirty-minute drive from Nelson Airport and serves the town of Motueka.
