Ossa de Montiel: Heart of the New York of La Mancha

The best time to visit Ossa de Montiel is during the months of April through October, for the perfect weather. The busiest months are usually May through July. Tourists are least likely to visit in November. One of the most anticipated events in the area is Fair of Albacete, which is held every September 7 to 17. Mainly, it was established to honor the Virgen de los Llanos. Declared as a Festivity of International Interest, it features various bullfighting activities. One of the most important highlights of the event is the opening parade. It involves taking the image of the Virgen de los Llanos to the Recinto Ferial. The parade has been observed since 1909. About 100 floats with brass bands and manchegas join it.

One of the most famous attractions in the area is Cueva de Montesinos. A small lake formed by rainwater can be found at the bottom of the cave.
