Oujda: A Gateway to Morocco
Oujda is a bustling city on northeastern Morocco close to the Algerian border. Called the “City of Fear,” this place serves as a frontier post and a trading hub. Modern establishments are dotted across the city but traces of its ancient past remain, including the narrow alleys that lead to houses in the city center. To get here, travelers can fly via the Oujada Angads Airport, which is 10 miles from the city center.
Best Time to Visit
You should avoid traveling around May to July if you want to get the cheapest Oujda Morocoo hotels. Some of the events held during this period is the Oujda International Raï Festival, an eight-day annual event paying homage to local music. Every August to September, locals also flock to southern Oujda to celebrate Sidi Yahia Moussem. The off-peak season is in November.
