Oulu: Technology and Tourism Meets
The fifth most populated city in Finland, known as one of Europe’s “living labs”, is the city of Oulu. Its name is derived from that of the River Oulujoki and translates into “floodwater.” Once was known for salmon and wood tar is now a center of technology and tourism. Oulu, Finland experiences a subarctic continental climate which means it has long, cold, and snowy winters and very short, warm summers.
