The best time to visit Oyama is during the months of April through July, for the perfect weather. The busiest months are usually January, March, and April. Tourists are least likely to visit in December. One of the most popular events in the area is Okunikko Yumoto Hot Spring Snow Festival in Nikko, which is held every February. It is the biggest winter event in Okunikko Yumoto Hot Spring. During the event, about a thousand mini igloos are lit up with blue and purple candles.
