Pocheon: The Stuff Dreams are Made Of
In the northeastern region of South Korea’s Gyeonggi province sits Pocheon, a suburban island whose ethereal beauty remains untouched. A two-hour drive from Seoul, the breathtaking Pocheon, South Korea is a far cry from the concrete jungle of the country’s capital. If you want to escape into a place of lush forests, rolling hills and emerald waters, this little piece of paradise is perfect for you.
Best Time to Visit
Pocheon’s weather is at its most pleasant roughly from May to October. The temperature can get from fine to hot, with some mild to mediocre rainfall. Summertime is when most tourists go to Pocheon, so expect to pay a little more for flights, lodging and accommodations when you plan to go from June to August. You can expect better hotel deals and rates when you go during fall; plus, the colors come alive at this time of the year, with vibrant reds and greens all around. Visit in October and experience the Herb island Lighting and Illumination Festival or in July/ August for the Pocheon Idong Galbi Barbecue Festival.
