The beautiful town of Port Alfred, South Africa is a part of the country’s Eastern Cape province. It sits at the mouth of the Kowie Rover and is found between East London and Port Elizabeth. Established in the 1820s, it was named on honor of Prince Alfred when he visited in the 1860s. As of a 2011 census, it has a population of 25,859 people.
