Rajpura: An Urban Oasis in India
Rajpura is a municipal council situated in Patiala district in Punjab, India. It is sandwiched between the Indian cities of Delhi and Amritsar. This urban town is home to several industrial companies, including a diamond manufacturer and power plant. Rajpura and its neighboring towns in Punjab organize several festivities throughout the year. In September, they hold a huge Hindu fair called Baba Sodal mela in honor of the child-god Sodal. There is also the annual Patiala Heritage Festival, which showcases classical music, dance performances. Given its tropical climate, Rajpura experiences hot summer days in April to June. The best time to be in town is between November and February.

Gurdwara shri Dukh Nivaran Sahib is a sprawling complex spanning several acres and serves as a place of worship for locals. People from the rest of Patiala flock to this place to celebrate the fifth day of the lunar month. Another landmark is Darbar Hall, an old palace that was converted into a museum.
