Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport- ROA-Roanoke Regional
Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport is an airport located three miles from Roanoke, Virginia. Managed by representatives from the city and the county of Roanoke, that serves 60 scheduled flights daily. The airport covers a total of 369 hectares with a record-high of 315,293 passengers in 2008. Although considered as a non-primary commercial hub, ROA-Roanoke Regional is one of the historical and significant airports in the region. It has evolved from a dirt runway airport to a fully equipped modern terminal.

Among the top carriers serviced at the airport includes Piedmont Airlines, Delta, Allegiant, Express Jet and Trans States. The current terminal building in ROA-Roanoke Regional was designed by Odell Associated, a Charlotte-based architectural firm to replace the old 1953 terminal demolished in 2005. Featured at the facade of the terminal is the abstract, steel sculpture of Albert Paley, known as Aurora, a towering 21 feet structure. The most recent refurbishment in the airport was the completion of the runway in 2002. Hardy, Marshalltown and Moneta are located close to the airport.
