Saitama: Home of the Bonzai Village
The most populous city in and the capital of Saitama Prefecture, Saitama is a city in Japan where bonsai trees are most apparent in Japan. It is also known to many tourists and locals to be the easiest to gain sake from, since it houses 35 breweries to date. The name comes after Sakitama District, which is now called Gyoda. The pronunciation from Sakitama to Saitama changed through the years and has been known as such since it evolved. The Annual Hanyu Natsu Matsuri held in July, is one of the most sought after festivals in the country held in Saitama, which is their summer festival. Good weather can be expected during May, June and October, and the warmest would be July and August – a good sign to really enjoy the said festival.
