St. George Regional Airport – SGU St. George
St. George Regional Airport is a public airport owned by the city of St. George, which is situated southeast of the said city in Washington County, Utah. The airport was first opened on January 2011, as a replacement for a smaller airport called St. George Municipal airport that is set on top of a mesa, an elevated area of land that has a flat top and sides that are usually cliffs, which made the expansion of the municipal airport impossible. Four airlines operate in the airport and are currently serving flights to different destinations. One of the biggest regional airlines in the world, SkyWest Airlines, is based in St. George Regional Airport.
