Shelby: A City of Cultural Attractions, Parks and Modern Hotels
Shelby is a city of good food, great shopping, and fun sightseeing opportunities. Originally named as Gamble’s Mills, the city changed to its present name in 1834, the year when it was platted. Today, many tourists visit for its affordable Shelby hotels, beautiful attractions and fun celebrations. Several regional and international airports are nearby including the Port Columbus International Airport (CMH).

There are plenty of things to see and do in Shelby, Ohio. If visiting for warm weather happenings, it is best to book your hotel during the warm months, from the last week of May to mid September. July is the hottest month, but some appreciate the weather for swimming activities.
What to Do & Area Attractions
There’s a place for everyone in Shelby. Families will love the parks in and around the city. Some of the most popular are Mt Gilead Ohio State Park and Mohican State Park. Vineyards and golf facilities are abundant in the area as well, but for a touch of history, the Mansfield Memorial Museum is one place to see. The historical site opened in 1889 and will feature the new exhibit, “Breweries and Bottlers of Mansfield, Ohio”, in 2020.
