Soltau: Woodland Regions and Amusement Parks
Soltau, Germany is a mid-sized town located in the district of Heidekreis. Sotau is a name from two different German words, Solt and au - which translates to salt and river. It is located on the Bohme River and is home to several Soltau, Germany hotels. The region became a garrison town in 1712, the same year when the very first cloth factory was built in the region. Soltau is home to one of the oldest sports clubs in Germany, MTV Soltau, founded in 1864. The sports club current offers 16 different sporting activities, with football as its major sporting event.

Soltau is a great place to check out especially during the months of May to September. As for events and celebrations, the Zwischenspiel-Das-Zelt, an event that takes place each year features readings, cabarets, concerts and theater performances held in a circus tent set in the region.

Enjoy the beauty of nature while having an intimate time with nature at the Heide Park. This theme park and resort is one of the largest amusement parks located in Northern Germany. The area covers a total of 850,000 square meters and is also considered as one of the largest theme parks in the country.
