Sylt-Ost: An Island Destination in Northern Germany
The former municipality of Sylt-Ost, Germany is located on Sylt Island, on the northern part of the country. It consisted of five villages, namely Keitum, Archsum, Munkmarsch, Morsum, and Tinnum. The municipality was under the Nordfriedland district and was once the seat of administration of the AmtLandschaftSylt. However, in 2008, Sylt-Ost merged with the seaside resort of Westerland and the nearby village of Rantum, ultimately creating GemeindeSylt.
