Tagaytay, Philippines is a favorite hideaway just a few hours away from Manila. Because of its high elevation, it is known for its cool climate and scenic nature spots. March to May is peak season so hotel rates shoot up as well. Accommodations can be more difficult to get but early bookings surely help. In May, the city celebrates Pilipinyahan, a festival meant to promote its most well-known product. The name comes from the word piña (pineapple in Filipino).

Ayala Mall has an open-air layout and 3 levels offering many dining, shopping and entertainment possibilities. Along the highway is Lourdes Church that’s conducive for meditation. The People's Park in the Sky is a nature park at the highest point in the city that has a breathtaking view. Picnic Grove Tagaytay has picnic huts and tables. You can go horseback riding, go on an eco-trail boardwalk, ride ziplines and cable cars.
