Ivato International Airport – TNR Antananarivo
Antananarivo, Madagascar has one main international airport that serves tourists and locals going to and from the city. Ivato International Airport is situated 10 miles northwest of the city center and serves as a home to Air Madagascar. It is one of the three international airports in Madagascar. Based on 2009 statistics, it has already served more than 600,000 passengers, which continue to increase to the present.

Ivato International Airport is both a commercial and military airport. There are 159 flights on 26 different routes the airport serves. It has flights connecting Antananarivo, Madagascar to Mauritius, Paris, Nairobi, Istanbul, Guangzhou, Paris, and many others. The airport is relatively simple compared to other international airports but current expansions and renovations are expected finished by 2020. The changes will make way for larger aircrafts like the Airbus A380. Tourists can only expect the basic facilities an airport can have. A nearby city is Ambohidratrimo. For layovers, Croc Farm Ivato is available 8 minutes away from the airport for a little sightseeing.
