Vernon, Canada derived its name from Forbes George Vernon, a former MLA of British Columbia. The city was incorporated in 1892 and now houses over40,000 residents. Vernon is nestled in the Okanagan region in British Columbia. The early settlers in the area were the Okanagan people who called the site Nintle Moos Chin which translates to “jumping over the place where the creek narrows.” Hotels and lodging spaces are readily available in the downtown area, along with several fancy restaurants and shops.
