Best Time to Visit
Located in the Municipal District of Peace No. 135, YPE Airport traces its roots to a now-defunct facility located some 3 miles from the current site. The original site was closed after a pilot encountered an accident while landing an aircraft. In 1984, construction of the “new” Peace River Airport was finished, and in 1996, it was bought from Transport Canada by the town of Peace River. Peace River Airport is also the venue for the Peace Regional AirShow, an event held every two years. The airport is a 10-minute drive to the town of Grimshaw, and is about 45 miles away from away from the town of Fairview.
