Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport, sometimes called Toronto Island Airport, is used for civil aviation, regional airlines using turboprop aircrafts, and air ambulances, located in Toronto, Canada. Previously, it was known as Port George VI Island Airport or Toronto City Center Airport. It was renamed to honor Billy Bishop, a Canadian World War I (WWI) flying ace and WWII Air Marshal.

YTZ-Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport was constructed in the 1930s to serve as the main airport of Toronto. It was completed by the Toronto Harbour Commission (THC) in 1939. In the 1940s and 1950s, a lot of politicians pushed for its expansion to accommodate growing demands. When it expanded, commercial flights reached a peak of more than 200,000 annually in the 1960s. As of 2016, it is the 9th busiest airport in Canada, servicing almost three (3) million passengers annually. It ranks as the 6th busiest airport in the country that has flights to and from the US. With its unparalleled services, it has been recognized by the Airports Council International’s Airport Service Quality Awards and Skytrax World Airport Awards as one of the best airports in the world. Condé Nast Traveler has also recognized it as the 4th Best International Airport. It has two (2) runways measuring 2,460-foot long and 3,988-foot long, respectively. Surrounding cities include Woodbridge, Georgetown, and Kleinburg.
