Yuncheng: A Historical Gem
Yuncheng isn’t just another city to visit in China. It deserves its own spot in any tourist itinerary simply because this is a time-honored city. It is one of the oldest birthplaces of the Chinese nation and human life can be traced back as far as 1.8 million years ago. Yuncheng, China is a prefecture-level city in the country’s Shanxi province. It was also called Hedong, which means east of the Yellow River. When visiting the city of Yuncheng, it is best to do so around May to October for the best weather. Other times can be too hot while other times the rain can pour. Winters are also pretty cold and dry. During May to October, the temperature is suitable enough for people to tour around the city.
What to Do & Area Attractions
A must place to visit when in Yuncheng is the Yongle Palace or Yongle Gong. It is one of the city’s most visited spots and one of the most famous Taoist temples in the country. Another wonderful place to visit while in the city is the Salt Lake in Yuncheng County, famous for its changing colors. Shengtian Lake is also another beautiful work of creation that deserves a visit.
