Aberdeen Regional Airport – ABR Abereen
Aberdeen Regional Airport is a public airport with an airport code of ABR situated two miles of Aberdeen’s central business district in Brown County, South Dakota. The airport was the site of South Dakota’s first fly-in even 1923, and starting May 1942 it was used by United State Army Air Force as a training airfield for the air gliding proficiency of army air force students using C-47 Skytrains and Waco CG-4 gliders. It was initially called Aberdeen Municipal Airport and was renamed to Saunders Field in 1946. Today, Aberdeen Regional Airport was used mainly used for general aviation and caters to one commercial flight.
