Adventure Science Center in Nashville, Tennessee has more than 175 hands-on interactive exhibits. Main themes include air and space, biology, earth science, energy, listening, mind, physics, and visual perception. Founded in 1945, it adopted its current name in 2002. Its first planetarium was inaugurated in 1952. Main areas include the adventure tower, exhibit space, and Sudekum Planetarium.
One of the fun things to do in the area is to visit Cedars of Lebanon State Park in Lebanon. It is within Lebanon State Forest, which is prominent for its cedar glades. The park features more than 110 campsites, a group lodge, hiking trails, a meeting room, and picnic shelters. It also has a small museum called “Merritt Nature Center”, which showcases some of the natural features in the area. 18 caves are situated in the area as well. Another interesting site to visit in the area is Fontanel Mansion. Constructed for Barbara Mandrell and her family in 1988, it is one of the biggest log homes in the world. Within the property are several attractions like Adventureworks Ziplines, Carl Black Chevy Woods Amphitheater, Natchez Hills Winery, among others. There are also public walking trails within the property. Tourists should also visit Historic Rock Castle in Hendersonville. It has been part of the National Register of Historic Places since 1970. One of the closest hotels in the area is Fairfield Inn & Suites Nashville Downtown/The Gulch. All rooms have seating areas for a more luxurious stay. Another popular hotel in the area is the 4-star Omni Nashville Hotel. It takes pride in its rooftop swimming pool with a seasonal poolside bar.
