Amboin Airport – AMG Amboin
Amboin Airport is located in Amboin, Papua New Guinea in the province of Sandaun. The airport with code AMG is not the main one in the said region. There are other airstrips where the majority of the flights land. Amboin is considered to be a small town with less than 20,000 inhabitants. This coastal town has all the amenities including a hospital, schools, bank and post office. Aside from the airport, there is also a railway station to access this town.

The Amboin Airport was one of the airports built by the Japanese Military during World War II. The property was seized in 1945 by the US and it was properly turn over to the government. The flights on this airport are most chartered and it is being used as a service center for pilots. The airport is close to the city of Aitape.
