Founded in 1890, Angleton, TX was actually named after the wife of a general manager for the Velasco Terminal Railway. It is a quiet and sleepy town known for having a total of nine parks, beautifully spread across its territory. Its claim to fame is actually the Brazoria County Fair held every October which is considered as Texas’ largest county fair.
Best Time to Visit
Obviously, the best time to visit would be during the Brazoria County Fair when all the food vendors, musicians, and artists come out of the woodwork to display their best. Aside from October, Angleton, TX hotels are at their peak during the months of January, February, ad April. Any other month and you should be able to take advantage of cheap hotel rates in the area. There’s a weekly Angleton Market Days that you can visit and take advantage of the cheap prices for fresh food items.

So what should you do if you are in Angleton, Texas if there is no ongoing festival? It depends on how far you are to the city center. For example, families can check out the Brazoria County Historical Museum, and the Brazosport Museum of Natural Science. The whole family can tour the Columbia Historical Museum for an educational trip, where learning can be fun. You and your friends can relax while playing golf at the Wilderness Golf Course or the Freeport Municipal Golf Course.
