Asmara International Airport – ASM Asmara
Asmara International Airport is known as the largest airport of Eritrea. It is a major public airport that is located in Asmara, Eritrea and serves Asmara area. Its airport code, ASM, stands for the country’s most populous and capital city’s name, that is, Asmara. In 1922, construction of the airport was stated by Italian authorities. In mid-1930’s it offered civilian and commercial flights. Nearly destroyed by World War II, and Eritrean-Ethiopian War in 2000, the airport started regular services in 2003. As of 2018, after the restored relation with Ethiopia, the airport has started accepting flights from Addis Ababa.

The ASM-Asmara International Airport has a single passenger terminal which can accommodate a wide range of service and facilities. The passengers here do not need to walk far distance to their next flight as all flights depart from the same passenger terminal. There is a restaurant and bar available onsite where you can have a meal or a drink. The best city to go from Asmara International Airport is its own city, Asmara.
