Baxter: Small Family Friendly Town
Baxter, Tennessee is a principal town located in the Western section of Putnam County. Geographically, it is located in the Tennessee Central Railroad. It is also near Nashville and Knoxville. The town is accessible as there are roads that are leading to the center. It is also considered a trade center for nearby towns like Dekalb, Jackson, Smith and other western parts of the County. Mine Lick is the former name of the town. However, it was changed in 1902 to Honor Jere Baxter who built the Tennessee Central. The nearest airport to Baxter is Crossville Memorial Airport (CSV), which is about 44 minutes away.

Baxter is a great destination all year round. Baxter Harvest Festival is one of the main events in town. It happens during the fall season. Baxter, Tennessee hotels are often fully booked. The best time to visit the town is from April to November.
