One of the landmarks visitors should go to is the Bismarck Civic Center, a full-service facility in Bismarck, North Dakota and is now known as Bismarck Event Center. This venue houses an arena and an exhibit hall while the civic center has over 15 meeting rooms. This event center is recognized as one of the premier facilities for entertainment, trade shows, sporting events, and conventions. It is owned and operated by the city of Bismarck and is home to Dakota Wizards and Bismarck Bucks. In 2004, this event center was voted as the top professional bull riders challenger tour venue.
Other attractions include the Dakota Zoo, which opened in 1961 with only 15 acres of land. Over the years, the zoo now covers 90 acres with hundreds of animals and receives around 150,000 visitors annually. Camp Hancock, originally named Camp Greeley, is another interesting place to visit in Bismarck. Part of this landmark is a preserved military installation.
