Brønnøysund Airport, Brønnøy is a public regional airport located in Brønnøysund, Nordland, Norway. The airport is operated by Avinor, which is also the owner of the airport. It serves the town of Brønnøysundand benefits nearby areas as well. The airport is also known by its IATA code BNN Airport.
Best Time to Visit
The first ever aircraft that landed in Brønnøysund Airport happened in July 1922. There would only be occasional flights landing in the area for the following thirteen years after. The airport was part of a detailed plan to help the rural areas in terms of development and economic growth. The airport cost NOK 2.7 million. Expansion of the terminal happened in 2005 and completed in 2008. Today, the airport consists of a passenger terminal, works building, and a café. There is also a separate helicopter terminal. As of 2014, the airport handled a total of 117,471 passengers. Widerøe is the one airline that operates passenger service from the airport. Nearby Salhus and Klubbøya are some of the nearby areas which benefit from the services of the airport.
