The Superb Sea, Sun and Sand of Bondi Beach
A must-visit destination when visiting Sydney is the iconic Bondi Beach. With its sweeping white-sand crescent shape, Bondi attracts surfers, locals and visitors with its all year round appeal. You’ll never run out of things to do as Sydney’s most popular beach destination offers it all – from surfing, promenading, shopping, dining and even having a few drinks. The Kingsford Smith International Airport (SYD) is 32 minutes away while the water airport Rose Bay Seaplane Base (RSE) is a mere 10-minute drive.
Best Time to Visit
Summer is undoubtedly the perfect season to head to Bondi Beach. Months from December to February are when people troop to the beach to soak in the refreshing weather but be reminded that hotel rates in the area are a bit more expensive than usual. Even so, the best time to visit would be anytime from October through April when the temperature is pleasantly warm. If you find yourself in Sydney during the cooler months it is still a good idea to drop by since it never gets too cold out there. In October and November, you can even witness Sculpture by the Sea, an outdoor exhibition of artworks along the coastal walk.
What to Do & Area Attractions
There’s a swarm of hotels with easy access to Bondi Beach like down-to-earth The Village Bondi Beach, the hip QT Bondi or at the Crowne Plaza Coogee Beach featuring balconies with oceanfront views. While there you swim and sip some cocktail at Bondi Icebergs then head to Hyde Park, the oldest urban park in Australia and of course, do not miss a tour of the Sydney Opera House.
