Buraydah: An Emerging Tourist Oasis
The regional capital of Al-Qassim Region, Buraydah, Saudi Arabia is located on the edge of the Wadi Al-Rummah. Primarily an agricultural community, it is one of the biggest producers of wheat in the kingdom. Today, it is also a foremost oasis and producer of dates, lemons, and oranges. Large-scale farms rearing cattle and sheep are likewise established. Serving the city and its environs is the Prince Nayef bin Abdulaziz International Airport (ELQ) in the Mulayda district west of Buraydah, Saudi Arabia.
Best Time to Visit
Tourists favor coming to Buraydah during clear, rainless days to enjoy outdoor activities, this period generally falls from early March to mid-April and from mid-October to late November, also the most active tourism month. Buraydah hotel rates are a bit pricier since it is peak season. Another peak month is August when farmers, traders and consumers of dates rush to the city for the 35-day Buraidah Dates Festival, which takes place during high summer season to highlight one of the city’s chief products.
