Coromandel Goldfields Centre & Stamper Battery, Coromandel, New Zealand
Known as the first-ever gold processing plant that is powered by diesel and the last of its kind in the country, Coromandel Goldfields Centre & Stamper Battery was opened back in the late 1890's. It also serves as one of the only six-head stamper batteries all over the globe. It is still fully operational until today even at over a hundred years old. Visitors coming into the battery are treated to the actual working battery and its significance to the mining industry back in the days.
Nestled in the coastal and mountainous area of New Zealand, Coromandel Goldfields Centre & Stamper Battery is surrounded by a handful of upscale hotels and accommodations within the city of Coromandel, New Zealand.
