CRM-Catarman National Airport was given a budget of 15-million pesos by the national government with the priority of renovating the terminal building. CRM primarily serves the municipalities of Calbayog and Catarman, which acts as the capital of Northern Samar. Catarman has a population of 94,037 residents as of 2015 and is the biggest municipality in Northern Samar. Calbayog, on the other hand, has a total population of 40,778 as of 2014.

Aside from CRM, visitors who want to travel to the province of Northern Samar have the option to use Calbayog Airport (CYP), which is only one hour and 25 minutes away from CRM. With its proximity, CYP is easily accessible from both Calbayog and Catarman.
