Dilley: History, Adventure and Outdoor Nature Adventures
Dilley is the current county seat of Frio County and was named after the first man that stepped out of the train in the region. This man was George M. Dilley from Palestine Texas and happens to be the president of the Dilley Foundries, the company responsible for bringing the rails and faster transportation in the region. Dilley, TX was originally an area where several citrus trees, peanuts and watermelon grew. This production decreased during the oil boom in the region during the 1970s up to the 80s. To get to Dilley it would take you a two and a half hour drive from the Piedras Negras International Airport to get to the city.
