Dalian Zhoushuizi International Airport - DLC China
Handling close to 19,000,000 passengers in 2018, Dalian Zhoushuizi International Airport is the 24th busiest airport in all of China. With an airport code of DLC, it is based in Dalian, Liaoning in the northeastern region of China. It has only one concrete runway that extends to a length of 2 miles. The maximized capacity of the airport has prompted the building of another Dalian airport, Dalian Jinzhouwan International Airport, to share some of the passenger traffic once it finishes construction.
Best Time to Visit
Dalian Zhoushuizi International Airport was originally built during the Japanese Occupation of Northeastern China in 1927. After the Japanese surrendered, the airport temporarily fell under the control of the Soviet Union before finally being transferred to Chinese jurisdiction in 1955. Subsequent expansion efforts throughout the 1990s led to a maximized terminal area that would hold millions of passengers each year. Dalian Zhoushuizi International Airport is surrounded by several neighboring cities, including Haiqingdao, Fuzhouwan, and Shenjialu, all in Liaoning Province.
