Ellijay is a city in Georgia and is the county seat of Gilmer County. The city derived its name from name Elatseyi which means “new ground” and “green place”. One of the most awaited festivals in Ellijay, Georgia is the Georgia Apple Festival held every October. People from other cities and states come to Ellijay to celebrate this festival.
