Fiuggi: Of Miracles and Wonders
Fiuggi, Italy is a commune in Frosinone that is popular for Acqua di Fiuggi or Fiuggi water. This water, which comes from its natural springs and mountains, has been used since the 14th century. It is believed to have healing properties. In fact, it is recognized and recommended by the Italian National Health Institute for kidney stimulation. It can also help break down kidney stones.
Best Time to Visit
Fiuggi has the best weather during the months of April through June. Peak tourist season is usually during the first quarter of the year. People are least likely to visit the commune in December. Fiuggi has a unique festival held every February 2, Festival of Stuzze. It all started in 1298 when the commune was about to be attacked by unknown enemies on the night of February 2. All of a sudden, the commune appeared to be in fire, deceiving the enemies into believing that the commune has already been conquered. This is believed to be the intervention of Fiuggi’s patron saint, St. Blaise. Every year, the locals celebrate the miracle by burning wooden pyramids in the town square.

Aside from Fiuggi water, one of the reasons people visit the commune is Fiuggi Golf Club. Established in 1928, it aims to bring genuine Fiuggi hospitality to all of its guests.
