General Santos International Airport
General Santos International Airport is a public airport located in General Santos, Philippines. The airport is used as an alternate international airport in the city that serves the general area of the Region 7 or the SOCCSKSARGEN region. GES Airport is the largest airport located in General Santos and the whole of Mindanao Island. The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines classifies the airport as an international airport. It is the government representative that manages and operates the international airports and other airports in the country except for the major ones.
Best Time to Visit
The General Santos International Airport was primarily built with the help of the United States Government back in 1993. The country received a subsidy of 47.6 million through the U.S. Agency USAID. The airport has not jet bridges as of the moment. Major airlines operating in the region include Cebu Pacific and the Philippine Airlines. Domestic destinations served in the airport are flights to Manila, Cebu and Iloilo. The airport’s runways is the third longest among all the airports located in the Philippines.
