Known originally as Galeao International Airport, Galeao – Antonio Carlos Jobim International Airport mainly serves Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Considered to be the second-busiest international airport within the county, its name came from Galleon Beach (Praia do Galeao) that is conveniently near the Brazillian Air Force’s present passenger terminal. It is also famous for being the largest airport in terms of area within Brazil.
