King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Airport – GIZ
Also referred to as Jizan Regional Airport, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Airport is a public-military type of airfield operated by the General Authority of Civil Aviation and the Military of Saudi Arabia. It was named in honor of King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, who ruled from 1924 to 2015. The airfield is located in the capital city of the province of Gizan, Saudi Arabia and generally serves Gizan and its neighboring cities. King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Airport is assigned the IATA code of GIZ and ICAO code of OEGN.
Best Time to Visit
The regional airfield features a single terminal with separate sections for departure and arrival. It also has a smaller terminal, which accommodates international arrivals and departures to nearby countries, including Egypt and the United Arab Emirates. The airfield uses one asphalt-paved runway, stretching to over 3,000 meters in length. Currently, you can fly into Jizan via seven airlines operating in the airport, some of which offer international flights. From the airfield, you can easily reach the city center of Gizan, which is just a short drive away.
