Hanko: A Historic Port Town

One of the most anticipated events in town is Hanko Theater Festival, which is held every June. Featuring 30 to 50 shows, it is the largest Swedish-speaking festival of its kind in the country. Another event to look forward to in town is Nordic Song Festival, which is held every June. It features artists from Nordic countries.

One of the most prominent attractions in the area is Ekenas Archipelago National Park, which mostly consists of rock islets. Founded in 1989, it was granted the European Diploma of Protected Areas in 1996. Tourists should also visit Liesjarvi National Park, which has various camping sites.
