H.A.S. Hanandjoeddin International Airport is a public use airport operated by UPT DitjenHubud, a Ministry of Transportation agencythat manages the operationsof Indonesian airports. Located in Tanjung Pandan, Indonesia, TJQ Airport was formerly named Buluh Tumbang Airport after the local vicinity. It was later given its present name after Lieutenant Colonel Pas HAS Hanandjoeddin, a famous Indonesian Air force officer who fought for the independence of Indonesia. The only airport in the island of Belitung, H.A.S. Hanandjoeddin International Airport handles flights to four domestic destinations and two international destinations through seven airlines. TJQ Airport welcomes an average of 800,000 passengers every year.
