Hengchun Airport – HCN Hengchun
The southern-most airport in the country of Taiwan is the Hengchun Airport. It is situated in the village of Renshou in the Hengchun Township of Taiwan. The airport is operated by the Civil Aeronautics Administration and is serving the town of Henchu. Few airlines including Uni Air used to operate flights in the airport, but due to the strong katabatic winds that are experienced in the area, the airport was forced to close. The last route that was served in the airport was canceled in 2019.
Best Time to Visit
HCN-Hengchun Airport is consisting of a single cement runway and a terminal building. Before the airport was closed, it has a breastfeeding room for passengers who are traveling with babies. A wireless internet connection also used to be available at the airport. The town of Fangliaois close to HCN. Different tourist attractions can be found in the place like the recreation area at the former Nanzhou Sugar Factory, Yan Art Villageand several historic sites.
