Huangshi: Home of China’s First National Mine Park
Huangshi, China is known for its many Instagram-worthy sites including the Buddhist Temple, the Ci Lake, and the Cihu Lake. It’s a city ripe with China’s culture – which is why it’s a favorite for many international tourists. The city was the original site of the Daye Iron Mine that stopped operation in 2000 and now stands as the Huangshi National Mine Park.
Best Time to Visit
Hotels are best booked from mid-September to mid-October when the weather is mildly warm – perfect for outdoor activities. Be prepared because during the summer season, city temperature register as 28 degrees Fahrenheit – minimum. For festivals, you can come and visit during the late part of April to early May. Make sure to bring lots of sunscreen as the Pagodatree Flower Festival celebrated during these dates boast of dragon parades, photo contests, rows of street food, and more. For the lowest hotel rates, the off peak season starts from November onwards.

Huangshi, China hotels like the Wanda Realm Huangshi and the nearby Tonino Lamborghini Hotel Huangshi - Cihu Lake are both well-received amongst tourists for their excellent facilities. The latter in particular is close enough to the Cihu Lake to afford you a relaxing view of the water. Of course, the mining park is just one of the many attractions in the city. Tourists also love to visit the Daye Marsh and the Tuanchengshan Park. Families will enjoy a trip to the Huangshi Municipal Museum, which should be perfect for kids and kids-at-heart.
