Islamabad International Airport in Islamabad, Pakistan began its operation in May 2018. The airport is considered to be the largest in all of Pakistan with a capacity of 9 million passengers in a year. Further expansions are being implemented in the airport to be able to accommodate 25 million passengers in the coming years. The terminal features 15 gates with a total area of 2,833 acres of land covered. This is also the only airport in Pakistan capable of accommodating the Airbus A380.
