Sloulin Field International Airport – ISN
Sloulin Field International Airport used to be an airport servicing the city of Williston, North Dakota. It was not the first airport to serve the city. Back in 1936, there was a small airport operating close to the Little Muddy Creak. ISN – Williston Airport began its operation in the year 1942. Many problems regarding the airport arose during the early 2000s, as the city was growing and also with the North Dakota oil boom. It was decided to have it permanently shut down.
Best Time to Visit
A single-level passenger terminal with only one gate and two runways made of asphalt consisted of ISN-Sloulin Field International Airport. Two airlines served the airport, mainly Delta Connection and United Express. Their routes were to and from Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota and Denver, Colorado, respectively. Since the 10th of October 2019, the airport has not been operation due to the almost near impossible expansion because it was surrounded by terrain and buildings among the many other issues. The Williston Basin International Airport was opened in lieu of it.
