The Kandla Airport in Gandhidham, India was first commissioned in the ‘50s. The first commercial operations of the airport with IATA code IXY was only in 1960 via the Indian Airlines. Other airlines that used to operate from this Gujarat city to Mumbai were Gujarat Airways and Vayudoot.
