Located at the southern shores of the Yangtze River is Jiujiang, China. The city is a prefecture level city and the second largest in the province of Jiangxi. Jiujiang translates to “Nine Rivers” and is indeed loved for the many scenic and picturesque rivers in the region. The region was originally called Jiangzhou and Xunyang during its earlier days. The city took the name Jiujiang during the Ming Dynasty in the mid 1300s. Primary industries in the region include petrochemical refinement, agricultural and chemical production and import export in its river port areas.
