Kamuela: Rolling Pastures and Splendid Sunsets
Popularly known as Waimea, Kamuela, HI is the Hawaiian translation of “Samuel”. This CDP in Hawaiʻi County, Hawaiʻi, United States was named after Samuel Parker who played a significant role in the assimilation of Hawaii into the United States. It is the biggest town on the North side of the Big Island and is made out of the oldest volcano on the island. Its signature rolling pastures, home to several cowboys and ranches, and has earned its nickname Paniolo Country. Tourists heading to Kamuela can expect rustic ranch-style lodgings dotting the area. Compared to other tourist destinations worldwide, Kamuela, Hawaii is said to have fairly pleasant weather throughout the year, except for some cold weeks in the winter, with a very low probability of rain or snow. Weather-wise, the best time to visit Kamuela is from late May to late October, although room rates are at its lowest in June when tourism is at its lowest.
