Kirchzarten: A Cozy Village in Southwestern Germany
The town of Kirchzarten, Germany, is located in Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald district in Baden-Württemberg. It covers a total land area of 8.16 square miles and houses a little less than 10,000 residents as of 2018. Back in 1919, a Zionist agricultural training farm was established in the town. It aimed to train the youth in the farm life in Palestine.
Best Time to Visit
The temperatures in Kirchzarten changes from the cold for six months to warm for the next six. There is an overall fair chance of rain for the six remaining months. Although there is usually around five to eight days of rain per month during the summer, it is still considered the busiest time of year for most of Kirchzarten, Germany hotels.
What to Do & Area Attractions
When visiting Kirchzarten, make sure to include the Breisacher Gate in your itinerary. This city gateway is considered a cultural monument and has been designed in the late 1670s. Around a half-hour drive from the gate is the Steinwasen Park, a popular theme park in the Black Forest that also features a mini zoo.
If you’re planning on visiting either attraction, check out Hotel Sonne and DIE KRONE - Hotel Garni, both of which are roughly six miles away from both sites. They are also great options for traveling families and provide free buffet breakfast upon booking. However, only the latter offers tour and ticket assistance, while the former features airport shuttles at a minimal cost.
